Since my beginning with NDSS in 2011, “21” has become a very special number to me, as I am sure it is to you as well. After all, that third copy of the 21st chromosome is an important part of our friends, family and coworkers who happen to have Down syndrome!
Starting today, each month on the 21st, we, at the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), will highlight one of our programs and the impact these programs have on all people with Down syndrome and their families! Our entire team at NDSS is extremely passionate about what we do and work tirelessly to support and advance the Down syndrome community through our four programmatic pillars – Advocacy & Public Policy, the National Buddy Walk® Program, Community Outreach Programs and Public Awareness Initiatives.
On May 21st, consider making a $21 donation in honor of our NDSS DS-Ambassador program. Our NDSS DS-Ambassadors are volunteer advocates of all abilities committed to taking part in the democratic process and serving as liaisons between NDSS and their Congressional Delegations. The overarching goal of the NDSS DS-Ambassador program is to build long-lasting relationships with US Senators and US Representatives to continually raise awareness, educate and advocate for public policy solutions that benefit the Down syndrome community at the federal level.
Every donation made on the 21st of the month will go directly to supporting the program being celebrated! You could even consider donating $21 monthly through a recurring donation that can be processed every month on the 21st, to continually support the mission that our team is so passionate about!
